During the last week in January we will
send a check to Presbytery to cover our Per Capita assessment for 2009. This
amount represents $26.00 per member on our rolls at the end of 2007 (271)
and totals $7,046. Per Capita is the cost of our Presbyterian style of
governing ourselves and making decisions and is divided among General
Assembly, Synod and Presbytery. The Per Capita assessment is not a part of
our regular church operating budget, but we have to pay it out of the
budgeted funds unless we get extra money to cover it. For this reason we ask
all members to make an extra contribution of $26.00 per member to cover this
cost. Our congregation is very generous and we hate to ask for extra money,
but this is a cost that only occurs once a year and we often forget about
it. If you can, please send your check designated "Per Capita".
Thank you. Randy Baukol, Finance
Committee
