WELCOME!
We are a community of faith where
individuals who desire to know more of Jesus Christ can be encouraged,
nurtured, and affirmed. You are invited to become a part of our family, as we
discover that God loves us personally and gives direction and purpose to our
lives. We welcome you to join us as we worship, learn, and serve one another.
For more information contact the church at (208)882-4122 or

. Sunday mornings we begin our worship with a
contemporary service at 9:30 a.m. Led by the church's Praise Team, the service
features modern praise and worship music and explores a variety of worship
elements. Our traditional worship service is at 11:00 a.m. led by the
Chancel Choir and organ music. Church school for all ages is held during
both services. During the summer we have one service starting at 9:30
a.m.
Christian Education
Church School for Children & Youth
The children's education program at First Presbyterian
Church is for children pre-school through 6th grade.
An exciting Workshop Rotation format keeps kids interested
in Sunday School. Classes for youth of all ages are provided by our
team of caring teachers during the 9:30 a.m. service. Children’s Church is
offered in Room 33 after the Time with Children portion of the 11:00 a.m.
service.
Adult Class Selections
A selection of Adult Education classes will be available during both the
9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. Our Adult Education Committee is always
planning interesting classes ranging from Bible studies to Christian perspectives on
social issues, parenting, peacemaking, and managing your money. Most classes
meet 4-6 weeks.

Music
Chancel Choir practices Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in
the Choir Room and sings weekly in the 11:00 a.m. worship service. New members are always welcome in the Chancel Choir. Now would be a
great time to offer your talents if you've wanted to sing in a choir but
haven’t yet been involved. You are invited to join this group as they share
in good fellowship and "making a joyful noise unto the Lord".
The Praise Team practices Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary
under the leadership of Kathy Pendegraft. This group of faithful musicians
consists of vocalists and instrumentalists (flute, guitars, keyboard, drum
set and percussion) and leads contemporary praise music in the 9:30 a.m.
worship service. New members are always welcome!
Presby Brass is an open group of trumpets, French horns,
trombones, and tuba who play for worship, especially on festive occasions.
Arrangements are specially created for the occasion and add delightful
color to our worship sounds. Rehearsals (usually on Sundays at 7:00 p.m.) are
scheduled as needed.

Seekers and Learners
Do you know ---
-
What does it mean (to me) to
be a Christian?
-
What does it mean (to us) to
be Presbyterian?
-
What is the history of
Presbyterianism and of First Presbyterian Church of Moscow?
-
What are the ministries of
First Presbyterian Church of Moscow?
Questions from “Seekers and Learners” classes :
Q. What is the difference between just attending
First Presbyterian Church and actually joining?
A. According to Margaret Littlejohn’s research, the term “Presbyterian”
comes from the Greek Word presbuteros, meaning “elder.” A Presbyter was
an elder in the early Christian Church. FPC, like all Presbyterian churches is
a church with Jesus Christ at the head and with government provided by elders
(and other lay leaders). While all church attendees are eligible for pastoral
care and may participate on committees and in the life of the church,
non-members to not have a vote and may not hold the position of elder or
deacon.
Q. How do I become a member?
A. The three ways to join a Presbyterian church are profession of faith
in Jesus Christ, reaffirmation of faith professed at a different Presbyterian
church, or transfer from another Presbyterian church or church in another
Christian denomination.
We welcome all questions about FPC, past and present;
church membership; or the ministries of the church. Please send to
fpc@turbonet.com. We will post submitted questions (with answers).
